26 luglio 2016, Rouen. Padre Jacques Hamel viene assassinato da due giovani jihadisti mentre sta celebrando la messa.
Papa Francesco ne rimane profondamente turbato: «Dobbiamo pregarlo», dirà, «è un martire! E i martiri sono beati». Il mondo intero è sconvolto. Un altro drammatico capitolo della serie di attentati più terribile che la Francia abbia mai conosciuto: Charlie Hebdo, Bataclan, Nizza…
Eppure, l’odio non ha l’ultima parola. Nel dolore, avviene un incontro. Roseline e Nassera: l’una piange la perdita di suo fratello, padre Hamel, l’altra è la madre di uno dei terroristi che lo hanno ucciso, Adel Kermiche. Due donne di fedi e culture diverse.
